New Left Review for institutions

New Left Review is a bi-monthly journal of ideas that covers a unique range of disciplines. Published since 1960, NLR has consistently maintained a position as a leading publication of the intellectual and scholarly left, on a world level. Many debates that have occurred in its pages are considered touchstones in their respective fields, and are course-listed for Political Science, Economic Theory, International Relations, Sociology, History, Philosophy, Literature, and Art in universities around the world. The journal’s global impact is evident in the translations of its articles and issues into at least 43 different languages; new translations regularly appear in Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Portuguese and Chinese.

New Left Review’s most recent Journal Impact Factor (JIF) is 3.3. The journal ranks 21/272 by JIF in the field of Interdisciplinary Social Science (Q1, percentile 92.4) and 41/322 in Political Science (Q1, percentile 87.4).

Subscriptions

Libraries, universities and research institutes can subscribe to get print and digital editions, and all subscriptions include access to our entire online archive of over 4400 individual full-text articles, from 1960 to the present. The fully searchable archive is an invaluable research tool used by academics and students worldwide.

Accessibility

  • Librarians have access to COUNTER-format access statistics.
  • Access is typically granted via EZProxy/IP range, but NLR is currently investigating support for SSO options such as Shibboleth and OpenAthens. Please let us know if you would like us to support one of these.
  • New Left Review is fully integrated into the DOI system.
  • Everything published in the journal is available in both PDF and HTML.
  • New Left Review is compatible with Third Iron BrowZine, which enables journal-level browsing in library contexts.
