Insiders—Outsiders

The Position of Minorities [*] This is a slightly revised version of a paper contributed to the working group on “Minority Groups in Urban Areas of Developed and Underdeveloped Countries” (which was chaired by Ruth Glass) at the Fifth World Congress of Sociology, held in Washington, D.C., from September 2 to 8, 1962. The paper was intended to outline the main aspects and questions relevant to the discussion of comparative “cross-national” studies of minorities.
